[PHOTOGRAPHY] Invisible Majority

By Zahra Siddiqui | @Zahra_siddiqui
My name is Zahra Siddiqui and my photographic journey began just over 3 years ago. I like to think of myself as a documenter, someone who captures those moments in between blinks and a woman of color who’s out here believing in herself.
Scarborough is a place that I know very well. I grew up here, I have friends here, I’ve had employment here but one thing I’ve never had is the opportunity to pursue my art here.
I represent a majority of people, young people, people of colour and artists in particular who are spread out throughout this borough creating quietly, in little corners and pockets. These are the people I capture because they inspire me. They are the ride-or-dies in my life because this hustle is about being a ride-or-die for yourself and your art…..before anything else. They overflow with ambition, resilience, culture and the desire to create beautiful things……even if nobody is looking. These are my people and I call us the Invisible Majority.
With Love,
Zahra Siddiqui
(Sidenote: all images are available for sale from sizes 4×6 to 16×24, I can be emailed at zahrasiddi@gmail.com if anyone is interested )
