“HORIZON”CD Launch & “Walk Away” Music Video Screening

The Ride or Die Project is happy to endorse the upcoming album launch and music video premiere being put together by the amazing multi-disciplinary Toronto based artist The Real Sun.

The Real Sun is a Toronto-based Korean-Canadian artist, educator, community builder, and healer-in-training.

As a survivor of gender-based violence, she comes from a long generational lineage of women who are survivors of abuse. The Real Sun’s first single off of the “HORIZON” album titled “Walk Away”, is a song that she composed imagining herself going back in time, and speaking to her mother, urging her to walk away from the abusive relationship she was in with her father.

The “HORIZON” album is a testimony of resilience.

As a an artist dedicated to sharing the nuances and intricacies of her own story, she is one of the many individuals who inspire us to continue in our journey.  The Real Sun has stated that The Ride or Die Mixtape “held me DOWN during #27DaysOfHealing ON REEEPEAT real talk!”

ROOTS REDEMPTION will be holding it down at the launch in partnership with The Ride or Die Project.

“HORIZON”CD Launch & “Walk Away” Music Video Screening

 Toronto, January 25, 2014 – Jane-Finch resident artist, The Real Sun presents the Launch of “HORIZON” CD, and the Music Video of her single “Walk Away”, on this year’s Lunar New Year, January 31, 2014.  The sophomore album of this multi-disciplinary artist is an experience of some of Toronto’s Best Acoustic Soul. The launch party will feature a live acoustic band (feat. Ruben “Beny” Esguerra and Heavy Steve), and several special guest artists; some of the city’s most promising emerging talent.
